About Shay

Shay was in a high kill shelter in Texas. That was no place for an innocent puppy to be, so we arranged transport and got her and a bunch of other pups to safety at HUA. Shay has been at the shelter for most of her life.  Volunteers and caregivers adore her, but she is shy with new people and therefore takes a bit to warm up to strangers.  Once she knows a person, though, they are friends for life.  Shay knows some basic commands and sits very nicely and ladylike while taking tasty treats.  She loves other dogs with all of her heart, and her many toys make her quite happy.  This smart and beautiful dog deserves the opportunity to live in her own home.  She just needs a chance to prove to people what a lovely girl she is.

Becoming an HUA Buddy changes a life. For a monthly donation, you can befriend a dog or cat in need of some love and support until your fuzzy pal is adopted.

Buddy Message:

Her buddy, Stacy Burbach from Lincoln, NE, sent her this message:

“Sweet Shay, you are such a good girl! You are mild mannered, love to snuggle, walk nice on your leash, are nice to all your other doggie friends and the sweetest to your sister Swiffy! I love spending time with you in the yard and just know that the perfect family is out there just waiting to find you but until then I would love to be your buddy!!”

Shay sends lots of love to Stacy and tells her she can’t wait until she visits again!
