I'm going home!
This beautiful Boxer boy was surrendered by a family for not getting along with the other dog and snapping at family members when things didn’t go his way. What we have seen at HUA is that Rugar is actually a really good dog. He does tend to have some resource guarding tendencies but he is quite the star during Playgroup, and gets along famously with the other dogs while engaged in play. This is probably due to the fact that there are no treats or toys involved, so Rugar isn’t compelled to claim anything for himself. He is very playful and silly–just as a good Boxer should be. He adores his caregivers and whines pathetically when he is put back into his apartment for rest and quiet time. Rugar does not want quiet time. He wants his people. He can be a bit nervous in new situations, which is actually adorable because he responds to fear by cuddling as close as he can for comfort. Rugar will be an amazing companion to an adult-only, experienced home with no other dogs that he may feel threatened by. He is truly the goofiest of gems.
