About Reno

Reno’s story began in the Ouachita National Forest in Oklahoma, where he was found surviving on the side of the road and scavenging for food. When he arrived at HUA, he was in rough shape, battling a severe flea and tick infestation that had left his skin irritated and sore. After a few weeks of much-needed care and recovery, Reno began to feel better physically and little by little, his spirit started to heal too. He was incredibly shy at first, unsure of his new surroundings and the people around him. With time, patience, and gentle care, Reno has started to come out of his shell and show glimpses of a sweet, sensitive personality. He continues to gain confidence each day, especially when he has another dog nearby to follow and learn from. Reno would thrive in a calm home with a canine companion who can help guide him and show him that the world is a safe place.
