About Forrest

Forrest was found in a field and brought to Hearts United for Animals by a kind person who saw that he was in need.   He was a beautiful, gangly, rambunctious, puppy who bounced around happily oblivious to the fact that he was in need of rescue.  HUA accepted this happy fellow with open arms and showered him with hugs and kisses and lots of toys. Once settled in his apartment at the shelter it became clear that Forrest had some challenges.   He frequently walks in circles and displays uncoordinated movements, causing him to lose his balance and fall.  One of his eyes moves around uncontrollably causing him further challenges in balance.  It was determined that Forrest had one or more neurological disorders that causes his physical challenges. The shelter was not the ideal setting for a pup with such a disability and we highly doubted that he was a candidate for adoption, so it was determined that a therapeutic foster home would be the best situation to keep him safe from injury.  Although he is a challenge in the behavior department– he is a puppy who is not able to retain corrections or basic commands–Forrest is adored by his foster family and he is thriving in his new home.  He has a safe and loving place to be for the rest of his life.
