About Chevy

Chevy was in a Chicagoland shelter, where he was affectionately nicknamed “the curmudgeon” because of his bad attitude despite everyone’s efforts to please him with walks, treats, and attention. Chevy is very particular about who he lets into his circle–but his adorable face and nubby tail make everyone want to be his friend. Chevy thrives on structure in the shelter environment, so much so that he sabotaged his multiple chances at adoption and kept getting returned to the shelter in Chicago. They worked with trainers to see if they could change his behavior, but at the end of the day, Chevy was just who he was, and the stubborn boy wasn’t going to change. His people in Chicago knew that Chevy needed a unique placement in a non traditional home where he could be himself. HUA opened up their doors to him and he immediately made himself at home. He chose Katie as his person and has a couple back-ups and the rest of us are all his servants. Chevy is happy to be where he is loved for who he is, and we don’t think he belongs anywhere other than at HUA with his family.
