About Adler

Adler was on the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter when we saved him and his pal Admiral. Adler was completely shut down emotionally and unable to do anything other than shudder with fear. A lot of work with his caregivers gave Adler the confidence he needed to trust humans, and now he is 100 % on board with loving those people that he trusts. He is becoming quite friendly and playful, and we are so happy to see his sweet personality start to shine through. He loves attending Puppy Play Group and he is doing quite well with his leash training. Adler will still need slow introductions when meeting new people, but he is eager to be an important part of a new family.

Becoming an HUA Buddy changes a life. For a monthly donation, you can befriend a dog or cat in need of some love and support until your fuzzy pal is adopted.

Buddy Message:

His buddy, Lynn Darcey from Winter Park, FL, sent him this message:

“Adler, I am your buddy and am rooting for you to be able to relax and enjoy being around people. I know it is tough since you weren’t taught much when you were younger. But I think you can do it with the help of the HUA folks! You keep trying and I am sure there will be a family who will love to have you! Your friend and buddy, Lynn”

Adler sends his love and gratitude to Lynn!
