I'M A SANCTUARY SWEETHEART!
Zeke came from a hoarder/breeder situation where the person gave up all of the dogs before the city pound took them and destroyed them. Zeke has been with HUA for quite some time, so he is a volunteer and caregiver favorite. He is blind but that doesn't slow him down even a little bit. This precious fellow loves to burrow in warm blankets, play with his doggy friends, and curl up in human laps. Zeke also helps the caregivers check on the other dogs. He is always delighted to be carried around the Homeward Building in the evenings to make sure all is well with the world. As a blind guy, his sense of hearing is pristine and it is clear that he is paying careful attention to the sounds. We think he is brilliant. At age 14, our little fellow has a slightly enlarged heart and an elevated trachea, in addition to some ongoing intestinal issues.
Because of Zeke's health problems and because he feels at home at HUA, he is a Sanctuary Sweetheart. He is a happy, well-loved, cherished little boy who will live out his life in his comfy beds and blankets, and in the loving arms of his caregivers and volunteers that spoil him as he so deserves.
