Breed
Sanctuary Sweetheart
Maverick and Charlotte were assumed to be stray wolf dogs when they were discovered on the streets by a wolf dog rescue group. It was soon known that they were not part wolf, but they were so sick with mange and fleas that nobody had any idea what breed of dog they were. Many kind humans worked hard to capture them and transport them to the HUA sanctuary. Charlotte and Maverick were elderly but they were not as frail as one would think. There were days when they played like joyful puppies. Everyone at HUA adored this lovely pair. We were very sad and very worried about Char when Maverick passed away. To our amazement and delight, Charlotte still sees the sunshine in every day. She has best friends that she loves, and a roommate whom she adores. Everyone who meets Charlotte instantly recognizes her good nature, cheery disposition, and immense gratitude for this place that she calls home.Adopt Me »
Her buddy, Carolyne Joseph from Lakeside, CA, sent her this message:
"Hi Charlotte, my name is Braveheart Dachshund. My mom, Carolyne Joseph, adopted me from HUA 8 years old. You are so beautiful! I was to be your forever buddy. Many licks and hugs from my mom and me."
Charlotte sends Carolyne and Braveheart lots of hugs and kisses!
