About Regan

Regan is a lot like many other Beagle breeding mothers that have come to the shelter.  At first she was completely shut down and devoid of trust.  The years spent in a horrific breeding situation had taken their toll.  Caregivers have worked relentlessly with Regan to help her gain confidence and experience love.  She now allows us to pick her up, although it is still a bit scary to her.  We were delighted when Regan finally found her sweet Beagle voice and she sings in the morning and evening while out in her yard. Regan has sort of figured out that she can do fun things but only if she thinks nobody is looking.  We know she loves squeaky toys, but she doesn’t know we know.  We know she plays like a maniac with her roommate but if she thinks we’re watching she will immediately put an end to the fun and pretend there was nothing to see here.  What we see in Regan is a silly, crafty little character who is figuring out how to play the humans like fiddles and we are loving every minute it.

Buddy Message:

Her buddy, Sarah Rivers from Lincoln, Ne, sent her this message:

“Regan, I’m so happy that you’re safe now at HUA. I know you’ll find a forever home soon where you’ll get all the love and cuddles you deserve!”

Regan sends sweet little kisses to Sarah!
