About Poppy S

Poppy S and her buddy Griffyn were brought to the HUA shelter because they thought the chickens on the owner’s property looked tasty. The poor kids both tested positive for heartworms and had to undergo the rigorous treatment in order to get healthy. Poppy S is a little bit shy with strangers but that’s probably because she has never really had any decent sort of socialization. She is very sweet and trusting once she knows a person. When she is comfortable, Poppy S is as loyal as they come. She gets along nicely with the the other pups as well. Poppy S is looking forward to living indoors with a nice family that does not own chickens.

Becoming an HUA Buddy changes a life. For a monthly donation, you can befriend a dog or cat in need of some love and support until your fuzzy pal is adopted.

Buddy Message:

Her buddy, Lucky Quinlivan from Hill City, SD, sent her this message:

“I would like to be your buddy!  You should visit here in California along the banks of the Colorado River.  There are a lot of ducks in the river we can chase–sort of like chickens only they swim!”

Poppy thinks that would be a great time and sends lots of love to Lucky!

Poppy sends hugs and kisses to her buddies, Joe and Angie Kirschling from Madison, WI!
