"I have a Buddy!"
Adler was on the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter when we saved him and his pal Admiral. Adler was completely shut down emotionally and unable to do anything other than shudder with fear. A lot of work with his caregivers gave Adler the confidence he needed to trust humans, and now he is 100 % on board with loving those people that he trusts. He is becoming quite friendly and playful, and we are so happy to see his sweet personality start to shine through. He loves attending Puppy Play Group and he is doing quite well with his leash training. Adler will still need slow introductions when meeting new people, but he is eager to be an important part of a new family.
His buddy, Lynn Darcey from Winter Park, FL, sent him this message:
"Hi Adler, I am so happy someone decided you could be rescued. I had a dog a few years ago that had the same issue - scared of everything. Ricco and I learned together, and he became a good companion. He even won an award for number of fetches in a period of time! I don’t know if you are the right dog for me, but I hope you get to go live with a family soon!"
