We can only imagine the horror that L'Oreal must have lived through at the beginning of her life. Her circumstances in coming to us were terrible. At 2:00 a.m. during a storm a couple pulled up to the shelter and left L'Oreal in a rusty old crate in the parking lot. Not only did they leave her, they left a mother and 9 puppies in a dog food bag shoved under the HUA van, another dog tied with chain to a cinder block, and they turned a very large Labrador loose to run the property. Thank goodness the security system sounded so that the on-site caretakers could find these poor souls and tend to them right away. L'Oreal is a very dear girl and loved by many. She has had a few opportunities for adoption, but those attempts showed us that living anywhere other than the shelter causes great anxiety for our sweet friend. L'Oreal has been at HUA for many years now, and she calls this wonderful place her own. We are happy to keep her here with the humans she adores, and at the place that has always been a safe haven for her.
