When a breeder discontinued her program, Hearts United for Animals took in the last twelve Shih Tzus, all of whom were estimated to be between 11 and 14 years old. The poor babies had infrequent exposure to human contact and they were scared to pieces. They had no idea that something wonderful was about to happen. Nothing good had been bestowed upon them for their entire lives. Kindness was something they could not comprehend. Shane lost a badly infected eye that had never been examined by a vet. His wink makes him all the more cute. This sweet boy gets along nicely with the other dogs and warms up quickly to humans now that he has gotten a taste of kindness. He is flirty, outgoing and curious. We are very proud of Shane for the progress he has made and cannot wait to see him flourish in a home.
