When a breeder discontinued her program, Hearts United for Animals took in the last twelve Shih Tzus, all of whom were estimated to be between 11 and 14 years old. The poor babies had infrequent exposure to human contact and they were scared to pieces. They had no idea that something wonderful was about to happen. Nothing good had been bestowed upon them for their entire lives. Kindness was something they could not comprehend. Sherman is as lazy as he is adorable. He is a calm, relaxed little couch potato who likes to surround himself with stuffed toys on his cozy bed. He loves chewy treats--we bribe him with them when we want him to get moving. Still a bit shy around people, Sherman is learning all of the good things that we have to offer, and he has decided we're pretty cool. A quieter household with lots of comfy spaces is just what this precious Shih Tzu will love.
