Welcome to our new website!

Uncategorized 39 Comments

While we loved the old website and hated to see it go away, it was time for a change. The dogs deserve the latest technology to tell their stories and help them find new homes. We hope you enjoy our new site. As we’ve added more buildings and therefore more animals for adoption over the past couple of years the old site has become burdensome and hard to keep up with. With our new streamlined abilities to post pets they won’t have to wait as long for their forever home. Also due to growth in the number of animals displayed on the site we have added search functions for you to help narrow your choices (although we suggest if you have time click the “view all” option since everyone of our sweet dogs and cats would love to steal a few seconds of your time and a piece of your heart). You can now check us out on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube from the links at the bottom of the pages and of course right here on our new blog! We invite you to join in the fun. You can also help our new website in the rankings by visiting us every day, as higher traffic counts will help get us bumped up in the ranks. If you experience any issues with the website please e-mail lori@hua.org. Enjoy!

I love your new site – I check it frequently!! I have two big dogs that I adopted (lab/great dane cross and shepherd/husky cross) from the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) here in Calgary, Alberta. I would love to see a “happy endings” section where people can post pictures and stories of the dogs they’ve adopted from you – it would be interesting to see how they’re doing now!

    Keep up the great work!

You guys are AWESOME! Bless you for all you are doing for these furkids. We have been blessed to give two dogs their forever homes. My mom just lost her beloved furkid so we will more than likely be visiting you when she is ready. The new site looks great. Keep up the GREAT work!

It’s just such a great improvement over the old website…and what I love is that it still tells a story about each dog and cat……a story that makes me emotional for each and every one that I read! HUA is a wonderful sanctuary for all of the animals while waiting for their forever home and family. And this website will make it easier to showcase each and every dog to speed up the adoption process…..

While I LOVE the new web site, I really, really miss all the “Adopted/Homeward Bound” headings for the lucky ones. It was so heartening to see their success stories, and I think it might inspire those folk who are beginning to consider adoption.

Hi Bonnie, It just means that someone from HUA needs to approve it before it posts to the site. It just cuts down on spam. Hope you had a great Christmas. Thanks for being such a good Buddy :) Lori

Hi Bonnie, You can still find the adopted dogs by going to the View All Pets page and then on the 2nd selection menu with the drop downs select “Homeward Bound – Adopted”. We wanted to keep this feature so that people could follow the dogs and know that they got adopted. I agree it is very inspiring for everyone when the dogs get great homes. It makes a big difference to the rescuers and volunteers to know that the efforts have paid off and the dogs they worked so hard to help are now in happy homes. Lori

Hello, maybe our entry may be off topic but anyways, I have been surfing about your web site and it looks really awesome. It’s obvious that you know the topic and you are passionate about it. We are creating a fresh site plus I’m struggling to make it look good, as well as present the best quality blog posts.

This may not be the place for this question, but a few days ago there was a message/alert on the left-hand bottom of this page (in blue) about a German Shepherd puppy that had just been found or brought in, and I was curious about him or her. Happy New Year to you all!
