When a breeder discontinued her program, Hearts United for Animals took in the last twelve Shih Tzus, all of whom were estimated to be between 11 and 14 years old. The poor babies had infrequent exposure to human contact and they were scared to pieces. They had no idea that something wonderful was about to happen. Nothing good had been bestowed upon them for their entire lives. Kindness was something they could not comprehend. Sometimes we think Sheridan should have been named Snoopy. He is nosey and curious, and always wanting to know what is going on wherever he does not happen to be. Although he is still a bit timid from living a life of neglect, we think this kid has made great progress. It is so nice to see Sheridan eager to experience new things. He is a nice friend to the other little dogs and prefers to follow rather than lead. Another small pup in his home would do wonders for Sheridan's confidence.
