Our main caregivers, John and Julie, risked their own health and well-being to rescue this adorable little poot. He was in a terrible hoarding situation with approximately 40 cats, an elderly woman, and two adults that were unable to care for even themselves. The conditions were so deplorable that the elderly woman passed away from living in them. The utter filth and stench were so overwhelming that the Department of Health would not let Julie and John enter the home without protective gear and masks. Many of the animals had to be caught with nets as they were completely feral. We were told to beware of Fuzzy Wuzzy as he was a "biter," but after only a few minutes Julie was able to pick him up and nuzzle him. He was completely covered in mats and so uncomfortable he could barely move. Of course, he is now one of Julie's very favorite dogs in the whole world. He is a likeable, agreeable little guy who loves car rides and just hanging out with the workers. He does get a little upset when the new dogs complain while they are getting groomed. Fuzz figures if he could be cooperative when he was in such a terrible state, then those other dogs should be good while Julie is working her magic. It is almost too cute to bear. He is known to be one of the first dogs up in the morning and cannot wait until the caregivers come into his room to greet him. He zooms about in circles with the biggest grin on his face. We think Fuzz would love to be in a home with people around most of the day. He has so much charm that it would be a shame to spend it on just himself.
