Sweet Charity was one of 33 dogs transported to the shelter in the back of a pick-up truck in the middle of an ice storm by her miller. That pretty much sums up the how valued she was for the first six years of her life. She was beyond terrified when she arrived. She would not let us comfort her or offer any kindness. When we approached, the poor thing would back all the way up into a corner desperately trying to avoid human touch. She is a resilient litte thing, though, and we know that living in her own home will be the ticket to her healing. Charity loves spending time with the other tiny dogs and is beginning to understand from their behavior toward us, that it is possible that humans are kind and only want to love and pamper her.
