Homeward bound-adopted!
Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska.
This incredibly gorgeous creature is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. She is a source of great pride to all of us - she is majestic, mannerly, gentle and pure of heart. Zoe was purchased as a puppy at a pet store, and adored her new family. She especially cherished her three little girls, whom she protected and loved with everything she had. Unfortunately for Zoe, the other dog in the house did not like her one bit and picked on her constantly. Once Zoe got big enough to defend herself, the other dog liked her even less and fights ensued. The family was heartbroken to give Zoe up, but a choice had to be made in order to restore peace in the house. Zoe seemed to understand what had happened and came to the shelter with a positive outlook, although she deeply missed her kids. She has shown us that she is a happy, energetic, friendly girl who will make the best out of any situation. She rooms with a male Coonhound because we are not sure whether another female dog would intimidate her, and she and her roomie get along famously. Zoe is waiting so patiently for her forever home, and she wants everyone to know that although she is not the smallest dog in the place, she is gentle and kind and would very much like some children to take care of and/or some parents to take care of her.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
