Monty

be my buddy
Dachshund
Born: 11/28/2010
Small
13 lbs
Male

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lakewood, Colorado.

Monty was born in and thankfully, busted out of a disgusting puppy mill in South Dakota. We were grateful to find that he escaped with no health problems or emotional issues. He is a little bit shy when he first meets a person, but quickly becomes your very best buddy in the world. We are having so much fun watching Monty become a true Dachshund, sniffing and exploring and discovering the magic of the squeaky toy. He is super curious and gaining confidence daily. He really appreciates that time called recess and scurries about from friend to friend, person to person, toy to toy as if he just cannot get over this super place. Although we still see the occasional glimpse of sadness in those wise brown eyes, those moments have become few and far between. The next step in Monty's journey is to find a real home with people that he can count on to be there for him every day, as he continues to open his heart to all of the good the world has to offer.
Buddy Messages (3)
His Buddy, Barbara Taylor, from Exeter, New Hampshire, sent him this message: "Hi Monty, what a brave strong litle guy you are, breaking out of that horrible place and finding your way to the best place possible, other than a Forever Home, which I think you will find very soon little tough guy, who succeeded in finding Hearts United for Animals - little tough guy who still is eager to play. What a boy!" Monty sends Barbara many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
His Buddy, Auleen Heffron, from Raleigh, NC, sent him this message: "Hi Monty, You are such a handsome boy and I want to be your buddy! I am happy to hear you are doing well and have such wonderful people to take care of you until someone special adopts you and takes you to your forever home! I have a 16 year old longhair black & tan little baby girl dachshund and we live in North Carolina. You are special and will make someone very happy, and maybe you will have some furry and human siblings too to keep you entertained, but I bet you will be doing most of the entertaining! I will be praying for you sweet Monty! Love, Auleen, XOXO" Monty sends Auleen and her little doxie girl many grateful kisses and very happy hugs!
His Buddy, Jay Bush, from Niceville, FL, sent him this message: "Dear Monty, You look like a brave strong boy and I know that you must be ecstatic to be surrounded by people who care for you and love you. You deserve nothing less." Monty sends Jay and his furkids little doxie kisses, many happy tail wags and just a couple of little barks of joy!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
