About Dana

Dana was in a high kill shelter in Texas. When she arrived at HUA it was clear that she had been terribly traumatized. This poor little girl was absolutely terrified of everyone and everything. We gave her the time and patience she needed, and now Dana trusts those humans that spend the most time with her. When she thinks nobody’s looking, Dana plays with her roommate and her fun toys, which is a good sign that she is making her way toward happiness. She now permits us to pet her, but it has to be on her terms. She loves treats so that helps. Dana needs a quiet home with understanding people who are willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe and comfortable. A small, more confident dog in the house would be ideal as Dana takes great comfort in their company.

Becoming an HUA Buddy changes a life. For a monthly donation, you can befriend a dog or cat in need of some love and support until your fuzzy pal is adopted.
