When Job arrived at HUA, we were heartsick at the sight of him. He was no more than skin and bone and so encrusted with mange that we could barely tell what color he was. His eyes were almost mattered shut. He was covered with cuts and abrasions. But sad as he was in appearance, Job was sadder yet in spirit. He was so humble, so crushed and beaten that he seemed like a very old and ill dog although he was only about five months old. This puppy sat bent over, looking at the ground and walked slowly and carefully as though crippled.

Two months have passed now. Job is very sturdy and muscular. His beautiful black hair glistens in the sunshine. We are happy every day just to look at him and to hug him. He is exuberant. he greets us with all the confidnence in the world, runs and plays with wild abandon, and adores all of us who care for him. It is the Quality of Mercy. It blesseth him who gives and him who takes.
