In December 1996, at 2:00 a.m., the police called to say that Cookie was in trouble and ask for our help. She had been tied to the door of a trailer in the freezing rain. Of course we met them right away to bring Cookie in before she froze to death. She was covered in ice, emaciated and barely able to move.

Ever since Cookie's rescue she has been an adoring fan of people. She has been so very grateful to those who rescued her and have her provided such good comfort and care. She is the most loving girl. Even 10 years later she dances and bestows kisses of gratitude for her wonderful life. Cookie loves it at the sanctuary. It is now her retirement home, which suits everyone just fine, especially Cookie.
