Homeward Bound - Adopted!

Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska.

Izzy is a beautiful girl with a heart of gold. She is playful, fun loving and completely adorable. Izzy was found wandering in the country, barely mobile and in extreme pain. She had been hit by a car and left to die. The vet estimated she had been left to fend for herself in agony for 3 weeks. Her rear hip and leg were so severely shattered and the injury was so old that there was no hope of saving it. She had an expensive and tedious operation at an orthopedic specialist to amputate her leg. They did a great job and she is recovering nicely. Izzy does not appear to miss her back leg at all. She has adapted well and gets around just fine. She is a playful, happy little pup. Thank goodness her worst days are behind her. All she will know now is kindness and love. We adore Izzy and hope that a great family will come along and invite this wonderful girl into their lives.

Izzy is a female German Shepherd. She was born in November of 2007.

Izzy is so happy that she has Buddies!

Her Buddy, Ingelore Pohlmann, from Winfield, Illinois, sent her this message: "Dear Izzy, I would like to be your buddy. What a courageous dog you are! And your beautiful face should warm everybody's heart. Warm hugs and kisses from your buddy, Ingelore" Izzy sends Ingelore many happy, grateful hugs, kisses, and tail wags.

Her Buddy, Fran Lyon, from Nebraska, sent her this message: "Dear Izzy, You stole my heart completely. You are such a sweet girl. It was so nice meeting you and visiting you. I am impressed at how very well you get around. You are abosultely lovely!" Izzy sends Fran many happy, grateful puppy kisses and says please come back to visit any time...Izzy loves visitors.
