Butch
Butch is only five years old but he's had a life of pain so he didn't realize that people could be good to him. He's a little conflicted about being loved. He's afraid to be picked up and will cringe like he's afraid he will be hit, but then he's thrilled to be held and loved and can't get enough. He's a big time cuddler. He's made great progress since being rescued from a puppy mill in Iowa.
When Butch was rescued he has severe mange and had lost a considerable amount of hair. He had a corneal laceration that has healed. He's now recovered and looking good. He loves to play and is making up for the five years he spent in prison. Butch is totally adorable in both appearance and personality.
Butch was born 3/17/2003 He is a Maltese. He was rescued from a puppy mill in Iowa. He has gained a pound since coming to HUA and now weighs 6 pounds.
Butch is so happy to have a Buddy! His Buddy, Danea Byrd, from Washington, DC, sent him this message: "You remind me so much of my little girl when I first got her.. scared of everything.. but you'll be ok little guy!" Butch sends Danea many happy, grateful Maltese boy kisses.
Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested.
